Don't waste any time at the beginning of this level. As the minisub sinks before Lara, she will be running out of oxygen and will become lunch for sharks if she doesn't move fast. Immediately perform a flip turn to reverse direction. Then angle Lara about forty five degrees to the left and swim forward, following the debris on the ocean floor. A shark (1) will appear on Lara's right as she approaches the sunken ship. If Lara has the harpoons to spare, she should be able to quickly take out the shark at this point with about eight harpoons and not sustain any damage. When Lara reaches the hull of the sunken ship, she should be able to locate the anchor. Swim up over the anchor, being careful not to get snagged on it, and then swim straight down into the hole that he anchor is protruding from. At the bottom, swim into the next room and surface in a large air pocket. If Lara hasn't already taken care of the first shark, it will be on Lara's tail. If obtaining all the kills is important and Lara has the harpoons to spare (which is probably not the case without using the weapons cheat), this is one of the rooms Lara might want to take her stand against the sharks. In any event, Lara should be able to eventually make it safety without bothering to kill any of these sharks. The next part must be done quickly to avoid running out of air. Swim down and to the right where there is a irregularly shaped hole in the wall. Swim through the hole, and immediately swim upward and to the right where there is a tunnel that passes into the next room. In this room, swim forward to the far end of the underwater room and enter a small passageway in the middle of the left wall. Swim through that passageway and once inside the next room turn left again and swim to the other end of the room. Swim down and on the left wall near the bottom of the room is an underwater lever. Throw the lever to open a trapdoor behind Lara. Immediately perform a flip turn to possibly face a second shark (2) that should have caught up to Lara. The best tactic is probably to swim down into the trap door, as Lara is likely to have too little air try to harpoon the shark here. For some reason, the shark gets very lethargic if he swims into the lower corner of this room where the curvature of the hull meets the "floor" so it might be easier to make the kill if it's hanging out there. Once inside the trapdoor, swim downward and to the left to find a small alcove near the floor of the passageway. Once inside the alcove, immediately swim upward through an opening and surface in a room with a floating crate. At this point Lara can swim back and to kill the second shark, and when it's dead, return this room Dive back down and swim towards the pile of crates that are along the right wall. There is a passageway that is partially hidden by the crates on the right. Swim forward through the passageway and pull up onto the platform directly ahead. Run forward and and take two right turns to find a lever. Pull the lever to empty the room of water. Turn around and run back to the edge of the platform. Drop to the floor below. Run across the room and climb up to the passage Lara swam in from earlier. Have Lara run forward and climb onto the tall crate directly in front of her. Turn right and take a standing jump across to the next tall crate, and then climb up to a passageway. Reverse directions, and hang Lara over the edge of the entry way on the other side and pull up, reverse and ready weapons. A rig worker (3) will appear in the room below, so take him out. After he's dead, drop into the room and collect his shotgun shells (1). If Lara is not already carrying the shotgun, she will receive it here instead of the shells. |

SECRET #1
|
SECRET #1, the stone dragon (2), is in plain view across the room. However avoid walking on the center part of the room which opens a trap door, which can be easily identified by its darker color. Rather walk around the edge of the room to pick it up. | ||
Carefully take a jump across one of the corners to open it, and ready
weapons. Lara should be able to easily pick off the thug (4)and the rig worker (5) from above. The safety drop tallest crate
and then to the floor below to collect a small Medi Pack (3) from the dead thug and harpoons (4) from the rig worker. Now have Lara make her way to the corner with three tall crates and one short slanted one. Have her pull up onto the the short crate and she will side down to a patch of dry ground. Turn right and face the center of the crate on the right. Jump up and grab the edge of the crate. Pull up and immediately press and hold the jump key to perform the next two jumps. Lara will back flip off the first crate to land on the second crate. With the jump key still depressed jump off the second crate to land on the flat third crate. Take a running jump and grab to reach the doorway across from the third crate. Move forward into the next room. |

SECRET #2
|
Immediately to the left is a lever. Pull the lever to open a timed door. Reverse directions, and run down the hall, taking a series of long jumps to avoid stumbling over the pipes on the floor (which is actually the ceiling of the cabin). When Lara reaches the pool, turn left and run to the end of the room, jumping over one more pipe. Pull up into the secret passageway and run inside. Drop into the water and follow the tunnel, taking a right. When Lara gets outside, swim to the left to pickup SECRET #2, the jade dragon (5). Again, Lara can try to use harpoons to kill three barracudas (6, 7, 8) and a shark (9) or she can just beat it out of there by swimming back down the tunnel, taking the left, and surfacing and returning to the main hall, where Lara can stand in front of the third window on the right to see the scenery outside. Return to the three pipes by the entry way. | ||
Ahead between the second and third pipes is a dark passageway
that goes off to the right. Follow that passage, and where it takes a
zig zag to the right, stop and turn right. Jump and climb up, through
the hole, into the room above and throw the switch to open a door
elsewhere. Drop back down into the dark passageway below. Continue to the other end of the passageway, and turn right when Lara reaches the end of the passage. To her left is a hallway with four burners. All four burners must be turned off at the same time in order to reach the door beyond to exit this area. Take a jump over a pipe and run forward and turn right again. Run down the narrow passageway and turn right at the end of the passageway. The following sequence must be done quickly as all the burners are on timers. Enter the doorway Lara just opened and throw the switch to turn off the first pair of burners. Immediately reverse, run and jump out of the doorway. Hang the left, and run back to the burners. Throw the switch that is adjacent to the second burner to open another door, and then take two side flips to the left to quickly get out of that area. After Lara exits the burner hallway, run to the end of the hallway, turn left. Run again to the end of the hallway and climb into the doorway that she just opened. Because the burners are on timers, follow the next instructions carefully. Inside the room, throw another switch and the back burners will be extinguished, however; by this time the first two burners will have lit again. Tap the look key, and immediately reverse directions. Run forward and to the left and take a running jump out of the room. Immediately take another running jump over the pipe on the floor. Run down the hall and turn right at the end. Run past the burner hallway taking two running jumps over the pipe on the floor. Turn right to reenter the narrow tunnel and then turn right again at the end of the narrow tunnel and take a running jump into the room Lara was in before. Throw the switch to turn off the front pair of burners, and tap the look key. As before, reverse directions, run forward and to the left and take a running jump out the doorway. Immediately turn left and run down the narrow passageway. When Lara reaches the wider passageway, angle her to the left and take a running jump over the pipe into and run to the end of the now safe passageway, making sure to stay clear of the burners. Throw the second switch on the left to open the door and go inside. Now begins another sprint, this time underwater, but first Lara should clear the water of hazards. Step into the shallow part of the pool to lure out a barracuda (10) that's swimming around in the water column. This would be a good place to save the game, because if the next sequence is not executed smoothly, Lara will run out of air. Now swim into the deep end of the pool and up into the trap door, which will close once Lara is inside. Lara is now trapped in a vertical water column that is divided into three chambers. With a little practice, Lara should be able to swim up from the bottom chamber in a spiral past the two dividing walls by keeping the right arrow key, the up arrow, and he swim key depressed. Once Lara is past the second dividing wall, and in the third and top chamber, immediately stop and rotate Lara until she can see the underwater lever. Throw it to open a secret doorway at the bottom of the column of water, and press the look key to prevent the camera view from wasting precious seconds, and swim down to the bottom of the column of water using the same technique as before. Enter the doorway, swim to the end and pull the lever to open th trapdoor at the top, and immediately press the look key to end the movie and do an underwater flip turn. |

SECRET #3
|
If Lara has enough air to spare, she can stop and grab SECRET #3, the gold dragon (6) and four sets of harpoons (7, 8, 9, 10). If Lara doesn't have enough air to grab the secret, surface first, and fill up on air and dive back down for it. After grabbing the dragon, three barracudas (11, 12, 13) will be released into the water column. Don't try to swim around like crazy to avoid them or use up those precious harpoons you just grabbed, just head for the surface. Once there, Lara can ready pistols to take them out with ease. | ||
Exit the underwater tunnel, and spiral up to the surface. Once there,
pull up out of the water and run forward down the tunnel turning left
at the bend. Safety drop into the hole at the end of the tunnel, and
slide down the rocks and debris to the floor of the room. Turn right
and run forward, and drop into the next room. Again, Lara will slide
down some debris to the floor of the room. Run forward to the end of the room, and turn left. Run forward to the wooden crate and pull it away from the corner twice, then climb onto it and then turn right and climb into the passage above. Run to the end of the passage and pull the lever. This causes an earth-shaking noise as a large trapdoor opens to drop all the debris from the room above to the room below. Now drop to the floor of the room. Run across the room and climb up the mound of dirt, until Lara can run no higher. Take a standing jump over the slope to reach the apex of the mound. Turn left and walk forward to find two holes in the ceiling, one of which Lara entered from. Climb up the hole on the right to the room above. Turn left and take a jump onto the slanted block that is against the wall. Take a couple of standing jumps to easily proceed along the left wall. At the corner, turn right and run forward and climb up onto the dirt mound. Turn left and climb up into the tunnel above. Run forward and turn left and throw the switch to open a door. Turn around and run back to the opening of the tunnel. Drop back to dirt mound and drop down the right side of the mound. Turn left and take a few standing jumps back to the hole. Safety drop down the hole. Turn right and walk to the end of the dirt mound until Lara will go no further. Turn left and climb up into this other hole. Turn right upon entering this room and walk forward and up the first sloped block. Take a standing jump to next sloped block and a second standing jump onto the pile of dirt in this room. Turn left and run up the dirt slope. When Lara reaches a flat area, walk forward to the front left corner and face a flat area that is diagonally across from her. Take a running jump over the part of the mound of dirt that's to steep to cross, and the turn right and climb higher on the mound. Climb again through a hole in the ceiling into a room above, and run forward and throw the switch on the right wall, which floods the room with the door that Lara opened earlier. Now turn right and drop back down the hole to the dirt mound below. Run forward and drop back to the ground. Then drop back down the hole in the floor to the room below. Run along the left wall of the room until Lara reaches the corner. Turn right and run to the opening in the wall. Turn left and climb into the tunnel. Follow the tunnel as it snakes left, then right, then right again, then left again until it opens to a tall room, now filled with water. Drop into the water and a scuba diver (14) will appear. With room to maneuver in the large chamber, Lara may take him out with the harpoon gun, however; she can also pull up into the passageway and shoot him with the pistols. This may also be a good place to save the game. Dive down into the water and swim through the door that Lara opened earlier. Swim forward, then follow the tunnel to the left and forward. Surface immediately and ready some heavy duty firepower, like the shotgun, to first take out a rig worker (15) and then a thug (16). After both are dead, collect a large Medi Pack (11) from the thug but don't use it. Also collect a box of shotgun shells (12) from the rig worker. Pick up two sets of harpoons (13, 14) from the platform. If Lara is not carrying the harpoon gun, she will receive it here with one bundle of harpoons instead of the two. Turn around and run to the switch. Throw it to open the door, and run inside to exit this level. |
