Palace Midas
Items: 23
Secrets:
Kills: 43
Unlike the previous level, that forces you to do things step by step, this level offers endless variety in terms of when to do what. In fact you may find yourself running aimlessly around shooting at things for a long time. Here's some pointers:
Hey This is
a Switch
Five of them to be precise. Well, you can run around all you want in the beginning, but when it comes down to it, this room is where most of the action is.
A Boost Please?
Can't get up to the switches? Well, there's all these pillars around here. Perhaps one of them is short enough for you to climb onto.
Ups and Downs
Okay, now that you've gotten to the switches, you've gotta figure out what to do with them. Well, maybe you should have taken a careful look around the room before you climbed all the way up here. Big Tip: Unless you like to hop around all those pillars, perhaps a different method of egress is called for. Also, just so that you get everything in a "convenient" order, you really want to start from the rightmost door and circle your way around to the leftmost door.
No... Bud Light.
Well, you've found the infamous torch room and have discovered what all the hub-bub is all about. Before you start, kill all three rats in the water. Not doing so will only add insult to injury. There is no trick or secret. Here's a few things to remember:
  1. You have approximately 10 seconds to get from this side to that side.
  2. Hey, that column in the middle is kinda off to one side! (Duh!)
  3. The distance between the last two columns is further than the others.
  4. Don't get burned!
  5. Okay, that was mean... here's the real tip: If the flames don't touch you, you will take some damage but you won't catch on fire.
  6. Okay: Big giveaway! You don't have to get across all five torches before they re-light.
For a detailed method, you might want to read the walkthrough for this level.
Did I Do That?
Well, you've brought the roof down. What does that do for you? Does it perhaps get you across to the other side? Just remember that you're looking for a lead bar. Anything else you pick up is purely incidental.
Color-blind
Lara doesn't want to put the lead bars into the slots. She's not flirting with you. (Yeah, you wish!) However, she does, apparently, have more brains than you. Maybe you're just color blind. Take a look at the picture above the slots and then take a good long look at the lead bars. Do they look the same to you? Maybe you should think about what the legends say about good old King Midas.
