Run through the passage and enter the sandy cave. Before diving in,
ready a weapon and take out the crocodile (1) swimming around. Dive in, and swim through
a passage to Lara's left and surface in a large cavern with the entrance
to the colosseum in front of Lara. There is a lion (2) patrolling the cave, so wait until it is
inside the building to have Lara pull herself out of the water. Ready
a weapon and take out the first lion. If Lara needs to, she can hop
onto a low slanted rock that is to Lara's right as she first enters
the cavern. Run to the left and take out a second lion (3). Lara can back flip onto a low rock to shoot
at the lion from safety if Lara needs. Run into the entrance and,
with Lara's weapons still readied, run up to the second step of the
stairs on the left and immediately back flip away and start firing at
the lion (4) that is coming at her. Lara
should jump her way out of the entry way to give herself some room to
dodge, remembering that she can jump into the water when she runs out
of room to evade. |
Now, run over to the left side of the building, and climb onto a ledge that is across from the building. Face the building and take a standing jump across to the ledge that surrounds the building. Have Lara boost herself over the piece of fallen ledge, and run all the way around the building, and grab the large Medi Pack (1) at the end of this ledge. Return to the piece of broken ledge and climb up to the next ledge on the side the building. Run all the way around to the front of the building and make a running jump across another part of the broken ledge, and a diagonal standing jump to the adjacent stone ledge.
SECRET #1
Don't drop into the cave on Lara's left, instead slide forward, then
walk until Lara is on a flat ledge. Walk forward and to the right
until she is in the corner and look ahead, slightly up and to the
right and notice a series of stone outcroppings diagonally that lead
to a cave. Hop back and take a running jump diagonally to the first
stone outcropping, then another running jump into SECRET #1, where
Lara can grab some shotgun shells (2). |
Exit the cave, then run all the way around to the left side of the building, jump over to the first ledge, climb up onto the second ledge, and return to the little cave entrance that Lara avoided earlier.
Drop into the cave, and then ready a weapon. Kill
the two crocs (5, 6) in the pit and drop
into the pit. Grab the small Medi Pack (3) and climb back out of the pit at the little
slope. Turn and face left and grab the crevice and shimmy across the
pit.

SECRET #2
Part way across the pit, the crevice becomes high enough to have
Lara pull herself up. Do so, and enter SECRET #2 and grab more shotgun
shells (4). Return to the crevice, drop
and hang and continue until she is across the pit.

Run into the tunnel, and follow the tunnel until Lara comes to a
hole. Drop into the hole into the colosseum. She can throw the
switch here to open the steel gate that allows access back to the
area at the beginning of this level. Run up the stairs, immediately
turn left and start climbing up the steps until she gets to the top.
Ready the pistols, reverse and start firing at Pierre. Keep shooting
until he's gone. From where Lara's standing, he should only be able
to hit her once or twice. Drop down to the bottom of the steps and
take out the two lions (7, 8) and gorilla
(9) on the floor of the colosseum. At
this point, it may be a good time to also take care of the two pairs
of bats (10, 11, 12, 13) that live in the
two square corner rooms on the same side of the colosseum as the
entrance Lara came it from. Safety drop down to the floor of the
colosseum, and head toward the right corner with the cave in. Ready
guns because there is one more lion (14)
there. |
Now keep the guns readied, run over to the left side of the colosseum, where Lara can slide down a ramp. There are two lions at the bottom to kill (15, 16). Then throw the two levers and run through the tunnel back to a pit in the colosseum. Before climbing out of the pit, there will be three lions (17, 18, 19) running around above her. Lara should try to kill at least two of them from inside the pit, so they don't gang up on her. Run around to the cave in area and enter the gate that Lara opened earlier, and slide down to the bottom. As Lara enters, run past the dividing wall on her right and then up to a grey step which is a pressure plate. Step on it to open one of the timed gates ahead and then run into the the room on her right and grab the small Medi Pack (5). Then step on the grey pressure pad to open the gate so that Lara can exit. Return to the first gray pressure pad, and while standing in front of it, reverse onto it, then enter the room on her left, then throw the switch, reverse and, immediately run over the room on the right, enter the tunnel on the right and throw the switch. Lara will have to hustle because all these gates are on timers. Step on the pressure plate to exit the cage. Enter the doorway Lara just opened, avoid the spikes, and start climbing up the rocks until Lara gets to the top. Once Lara is at the top, turn around and head up the rocks instead of out toward the edge. Hidden among the rocks are some shotgun shells (6). Return to the hole that Lara came up from, and walk all the way out to the farthest edge and face the rock slide. Do a running jump onto the slide. When Lara reaches the flat ledge, turn left and face the ledge. Do a running jump and grab to get to the royal spectator booth. Ready a weapon and take out the two gorillas (20, 21) inside. Proceed through the booth and pull the grey block out twice. Behind it is a small Medi Pack (7) and a switch. Throw the switch and return to the ledge. Turn left and walk to the edge facing the rock slide, and do a standing jump back to the slide, then slide to colosseum floor. Climb up out of the colosseum floor to the spectator area via a stone block against the wall near the left side of the colosseum. Enter the corner room through the door Lara just opened. run straight into the tunnel and fall into the pit allowing a boulder to sail over Lara's head. Climb back out of the pit and do a standing jump and grab to get past the pit. Run up the slope and throw the switch at the top. Slide down the ramp backwards and drop into the room below. Ready the pistols because Pierre is back with a lion (22). Alert them of Lara's presence by exiting the corner room via the passage that lets her walk all the way back to the colosseum entrance while staying on the second step. As soon as Lara spots Pierre, start shooting and back flipping or hopping backwards to the safety of the corner room. After Pierre has run away and Lara has killed the lion, run across to the next corner room and enter the door Lara just opened.
SECRET #3 & the Magnums
The procedure for entering the secret door at the top of this room is
little tricky, but is pretty easy with a little practice. The door
at the top of this room is on a timer, so everything must be done
quickly. Stand to the right of the third or tallest pillar. This
will open the door at the top. Then aim Lara at the center of the
first block and perform four standing jumps in sequence. First jump
forward, then right, the backward, then left, then forward and run
into the room, which is SECRET #3. Grab the two large Medi Packs
(8, 9), the Uzi clips (10), and the magnums (11). Exit this room and walk out onto the
ledge.

Turn and face the switch on her left. Do a running jump across to the
ledge and throw the switch. Do a running jump back to the long ledge,
then walk to the edge facing the next lower ledge. Take a hop back and
do a standing jump to get down to that ledge, and repeat to get to the
next lower platform. Now she can safety drop to the floor without
injury. Exit this room and run to the last corner of the colosseum.

Rusty Key
Climb up into the doorway Lara just opened, then throw the switch to
open the door in the back of the royal booth. Then jump into the
water and follow the underwater tunnel until she surfaces in a small
room. Grab the small Medi Pack (12) and
push the block twice then run around to the right side and pull it
once to move it away from the wall. Enter the tunnel and grab the
rusty key (13) and then jump back into
the water, and return to the colosseum. |
Ready the pistols and take out a gorilla (23) on the colosseum floor and then run into the opening at the base of the rocks on the right side of the colosseum. Climb up the rocks, walk over to the edge of the rocks where Lara can do her running jump to the rock slide. Then do the running jump and grab to get back to the ledge that leads to the private booth. Run through the first room to the double doors in the back. Enter and grab the small Medi Pack (14). Return back to the ledge of the booth that opens to the colosseum, where there are two more gorillas (24, 25) running around the colosseum floor. Take them out from the ledge and then go back inside where Lara can use the rusty key to open the gate in the booth. Jump in and quickly swim forward, avoiding a crocodile (26) and have Lara pull herself up into a room with a switch. Ready a weapon, kill the croc, throw the switch and jump back into the water. Swim forward until Lara exits this level.
